James Eller is a partner at Birch Stewart Kolasch & Birch, LLP. He focuses his intellectual property practice on U.S. patent prosecution in the mechanical and electro-mechanical fields. His experience includes prosecuting patents, preparing infringement and validity opinions and preparing or defending warning letters. He also has extensive experience in design patents.

Mr. Eller’s specialized areas of technology include: lighting devices including LED, display devices, mobile terminals and refrigeration and air conditioning systems including compressors. He also has broad experience in home appliances including washers/dryers, dishwashers, stoves/ovens and microwave technology.

Mr. Eller is a former Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has practiced in the intellectual property filed since 1989. He is a frequent lecturer for the firm seminar series and regularly conducts workshops for clients internationally.
