Penny Caudle has practiced in the intellectual property field since 1998, specializing in electrical and IT patents and business method patents. In her role as of counsel at BSKB, Ms. Caudle works directly with inventors to prepare and prosecute patent applications in various electrical areas. Her areas of expertise include telecommunications, including back-end systems, mobile hand held devices, wireless and Bluetooth technology. She also has experience with navigation systems, image signal processing, robotic control theory and in various Standards-related technologies such as MPEG2, MPEG4, H.264, MPEG7, DVD, Blu-ray and ATSC. She also has experience in endoscopes and medical devices.

Ms. Caudle prosecutes patent applications, including corresponding with clients and preparing replies to all USPTO correspondence, such as Office Actions and Restriction Requirements. Her expertise also includes preparing Appeal Briefs, conducting oral hearings and conducting post-grant proceedings before the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board, as well as conducting legal research and assisting partners in preparing patentability, non-infringement and validity opinion letters.

She is a former Patent Examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark office and her experience includes several years working as an engineer for some of the most prominent U.S. corporations.
