Alireza Behrooz, a registered patent attorney, has a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology & Microbiology from Case Western Reserve University and has been practicing in the intellectual property field since graduating from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 2004. He also has a master’s degree in biology from Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus, and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Applied Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Dr. Behrooz has represented small to large multinational companies and universities with preparing, obtaining, and securing patents on inventions, in particular in the life sciences, biologics/pharmaceutical, and biotech sectors, as well as has provided opinions and due diligence analysis across a broad range of disciplines. He is also experienced in challenges to patent validity and has assisted clients in inter partes reviews (IPRs), an efficient, cheaper alternative to litigation that is conducted before the United States Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).

Prior to entering private law practice, Dr. Behrooz performed bench research relevant to metabolism, diabetes and cancer and his various findings are published as peer-reviewed, cited articles in scientific journals.
